Nepal Hosts First International Balloon Festival in Pokhara

Nepal’s scenic city of Pokhara, known as the country’s tourism capital, has elevated adventure tourism with its inaugural International Balloon Festival. The nine-day event, titled the BYD International Balloon Festival, commenced on 24 December 2024 and will run until 2 January 2025 in the Pame region.

Participants from 30 countries are attending this vibrant event, which features over 20 international pilots and more than two dozen balloon companies. Attendees can enjoy daily hot air balloon flights with breathtaking views of the Annapurna, Machhapuchhre, and Dhaulagiri mountain ranges, solidifying Pokhara as a premier destination for adventure enthusiasts.

5 More Languages, Including Marathi and Bengali, To Get "Classical" Status

 In a major decision, the Union Cabinet  approved giving the status of 'classical language"'to five more languages - Marathi, Bengali, Pali, Prakrit and Assamese. With this cabinet decision, the number of languages that have the status will nearly double from six to 11.

The languages that had the tag earlier were Tamil, Sanskrit, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Odia.

भारतीय अमेरिकी अभिजीत बनर्जी को साल 2019 के लिए अर्थशास्त्र का नोबेल पुरस्कार दिया गया है. उन्हें यह पुरस्कार फ्रांस की एस्थर डुफ्लो और अमेरिका के माइकल क्रेमर के साथ संयुक्त रूप से दिया गया है. यह पुरस्कार ‘वैश्विक स्तर पर गरीबी उन्मूलन के लिए किये गये कामों के लिये दिया गया. नोबेल समिति के सोमवार को जारी एक बयान में तीनों को 2019 का अर्थशास्त्र का नोबेल पुरस्कार दिए जाने की घोषणा की गई. बयान के मुताबिक,‘‘इस साल के पुरस्कार विजेताओं का शोध वैश्विक स्तर पर गरीबी से लड़ने में हमारी क्षमता को बेहतर बनाता है. मात्र दो दशक में उनके नये प्रयोगधर्मी दृष्टिकोण ने विकास अर्थशास्त्र को पूरी तरह बदल दिया है. विकास अर्थशास्त्र वर्तमान में शोध का एक प्रमुख क्षेत्र है.''

1. विश्व चैंपियनशिप: सिमोना बाइल्स ने जीता 25वां मेडल, सबसे ज्यादा पदक जीतने वाली खिलाड़ी बनीं
अमेरिका की जिम्नास्टिक सुपरस्टार सिमोना बाइल्स ने वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप में इतिहास रच दिया है। सिमोना ने रविवार को बीम स्पर्धा में दमदार प्रदर्शन करते हुए अपना 25वां मेडल जीत लिया। इसी के साथ अब वे वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप के इतिहास में सबसे ज्यादा मेडल जीतने वाली जिम्नास्ट बन गई हैं।

22 वर्षीया सिमोना ने वर्ल्ड चैंपियनशिप का 19वां गोल्ड मेडल जीतकर बेलारूस के पुरुष जिम्नास्ट विताली शेरबो के विश्व रिकॉर्ड को तोड़ दिया। सिमोना ने सिर्फ इस साल ही पांच गोल्ड जीता है।

2. नेपाल को चीन की तरफ से 56 अरब नेपाली रुपये की मदद, दोनो देशों के बीच 18 समझौते
चीनी राष्ट्रपति शी जिनपिंग रविवार को नेपाल पहुंचे। नेपाल में उनका भव्य स्वागत किया गया। इस दौरान उन्होंने नेपाली राष्ट्रपति विद्या देवी भंडारी से भी मुलाकात की। इसके बाद दोनो देशों के बीच 18 समझौते हुए। चीनी राष्ट्रपति ने नेपाल के विकास कार्यक्रमों के लिए 56 अरब नेपाली रुपये की सहायता देने की घोषणा की।
उन्होंने काठमांडू को तातोपानी ट्रांजिट प्वाइंट से जोड़ने वाले अर्निको राजमार्ग को दुरुस्त करने का भी वादा किया। यह राजमार्ग 2015 के भूकंप के बाद बंद है। इसके साथ ही चीन केरुंग-काठमांडू टनल रोड के निर्माण में भी मदद करेगा।  जिनपिंग 23 साल में नेपाल का दौरा करने वाले चीन के पहले राष्ट्र प्रमुख हैं।

Noble Prize 2019- List Of Winners
