1. BHARAT NIRMAN:

• It was implemented and extended in three phases i.e., from (2005 - 2009), (2009 - 2012), (2012- 2014)
• It is centrally sponsored scheme for the rural development of India started in September 2005.
• There are 6 objectives in this scheme


Objectives:
a) To provide all weather road connectivity to the village which have more than 1000 population in plain areas and 500 population in hilly areas.


b) To bring 10 million hectares of land under irrigation facility and to make 1.4 million hectares of additional land for arable land (for the use of agriculture).
c) To provide clean drinking water to all villages by the end of 2012 under Rajiv Gandhi payjal yojana.
d) To electrify 1, 76,000 villages by the end of 2012 under Rajiv Gandhi Vidyutikaran yojna.
e) To construct Pakka houses for BPL house- holds under Indira Awas Yojana (Now from April 1st 2013 cash assistance Rs. 70000 for plain areas and Rs. 75000 for hilly areas) previously it was Rs. 40000 for plain areas and Rs. 45000 for hilly areas.
f) To provide telephone connectivity to all villages and all BPL holders by 2012.
g) Note: All these objectives are extended till 2014.

2. JNNURM: Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission


• It was implemented and extended in two phases i.e., (2005 - 2012), (2012 - 2014)


• Started in the year 2005 to make million plus cities squatter (Slam area) free.
• There are 2 components
a) To construct pakka houses for urban poor dwelling in squatter under Rajiv Awas yojana.
b) To make transportation system faster and greener.

3. NRHM: National Rural Health Mission
• It was started on 12th April 2005 to enhance the health facilities in rural areas.
• The appointment of ASHA workers (Accredited social health activist) in Angonwadi Kendra to provide basic information on health and hygiene conditions as well as to guide people regarding conservation of water.

4. MGNREGA: Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act

• It was on started on 2nd Feb 2006 to provide minimum 150 days from 1st April 2013 (previously its is 100 days) of employment to BPL house hold.
• This scheme is both for Urban and Rural areas.
• The old name of this scheme is NREGA and it was changed to MGNREGA on 2nd Oct 2009.
• The wages under the scheme is fixed on the basis of CPI-AL (Consumer Price Index for Agricultural Labourers) which is calculated by the state government on the basis of their Per capita Income.

5. UIDAI: Unique Identification Authority of India.

• It was started in the year 2010 to provide multipurpose national identity card (MNIC) to every

citizen aged above 5 years.
• Its name has been changed to Aadhar.
• Its model state was Karnataka (started)
• The retinal identification is taken from the age group of 14 and above.
• Scheme has 7 components like address, PAN no., Passport no., retinal identity etc, It consists of 12 digit number.
• Chairman: First chairman Nandan Nilkani (now Resigned)

6. NFSM: National Food Security Mission

• This scheme is to reduce the poverty in India under national social assistance programme.
• Under Public Distribution System (PDS), government will provide rice @ Rs. 3/kg, wheat @ Rs. 2/kg to the BPL households. 


7. Indira Awaas Yojana
 Indira Awaas Yojana is a social welfare programme, created by the Indian Government, to provide housing for the rural poor in India. The differentiation is made between rural poor and urban poor for a separate set of schemes operate for the urban poor(like the Basic Services for Urban Poor). It is one of the major flagship programs of the Rural Development Ministry to construct houses for BPL population in the villages. Under the scheme, financial assistance worth Rs.70,000/- in plain areas and Rs.75,000/- in difficult areas (high land area) is provided for construction of houses. The houses are allotted in the name of the woman or jointly between husband and wife. The construction of the houses is the sole responsibility of the beneficiary and engagement of contractors is strictly prohibited. Sanitary latrine and smokeless chullah are required to be constructed along with each IAY house for which additional financial assistance is provided from Total Sanitation Campaign and Rajiv Gandhi Grameen Vidyutikaran Yojana respectively. This scheme, operating since 1985, provides subsidies and cash-assistance to people in villages to construct their houses, themselves.
Started in 1985 as part of the Rural Landless Employment Guarantee Programme (RLEGP), Indira Awaas Yojana (IAY) was subsumed in Jawahar rojgar Yojana (JRY) in 1989 and has been operating as an independent scheme since 1996

8. Swabhimaan

Swabhimaan is a campaign of the Government of India which aims to bring banking services to large rural areas without banking services in the country. It was launched by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the United Progressive Alliance party in the presence of Shri Pranab Mukherjee, the Union Finance Minister and Shri Namo Narain Meena, the Union Minister of State for Finance on February 10, 2011. This campaign is to be operated by the Ministry of Finance, Government of India and the Indian Banks' Association (IBA) to bring banking within the reach of the masses of the Indian population. 

Services Offered-
  
1.  Promises to bring basic banking services to unbanked villages with a population of 2000 and above.
   2.  The movement facilitates opening of banks accounts, provide need-based credit and remittance facilities besides helping in promoting financial literacy in rural India.
   3.  The programme is aimed at increasing the demand for credit among the millions of small and marginal farmers and rural artisans who will benefit by having access to banking facilities.
   4.  This financial inclusion campaign aims at providing branchless banking services through the use of technology.

 9. Swavalamban Yojana

Swavalamban Yojana seeks to provide pension scheme to the unorganised sector in India. It will be applicable to all citizens in the unorganised sector who join the National Pension System (NPS) administered by the Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) Act 2013.
Under the scheme, Government will contribute Rs. 1000 per year to each NPS account opened in the year 2010-11 and for the next three years, that is, 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14. The benefit will be available only to persons who join the NPS with a minimum contribution of Rs. 1,000 and maximum contribution of Rs. 12,000 per annum.
The scheme was announced by the Finance Minister in Budget 2010-11. It will be funded by grants from the Government of India.


10. ANNAPURNA:

• Under this scheme 10 kg of food grains are provided to BPL households free of cost every month.
• But for this scheme the particular beneficiary shouldn’t be registered with IGNOAPS.
11. Rajiv Awas Yojana (RAY) is an Indian government program that attempts to help slum dwellers gain appropriate housing and address the processes by which slums are created and reproduced. It was introduced by the Indian government's Ministry of Housing and Alleviation. The programme is a Centrally Sponsored Scheme, and will run from 2013 to 2022. This scheme aims to make India slum-free by 2022 by providing people with shelter or housing, free of cost. It began with a pilot project, before launching in mission mode. The government earmarked Rs. 32,230 crore for implementation during India's 12th Five Year Plan. One million beneficiaries are proposed to be covered under Rajiv Awas Yojana.


Objectives
  • To improve and provide housing, basic civic infrastructure, and social amenities in intervened slums
  • To enable reforms by addressing some of the causes leading to the creation of slums
  • To facilitate a supportive environment for the expansion of institutional credit linkages for the urban poor
  • To institutionalize mechanisms for the prevention of slums, including the creation of affordable housing stock
  • To strengthen institutional and human resource capacities at the municipal, city, and state levels through comprehensive capacity building and the strengthening of resource networks

Provisions

Site selection was to be made by the states in consultation with the Centre giving priority to district headquarters, cities of religious heritage and tourist importance, with due consideration to the criterion of the pace of growth of the city, of slums within the city and predominance of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe and minority population and other weaker and vulnerable section of the society.

12. IGNOAPS: Indira Gandhi National Old age Pension Scheme
· This Scheme is for the people who aged above 65 years.
· The amount of Rs. 400 per month (Central govt + State govt = Rs. 200 + Rs. 200) will be provided by both Central
government and State government who aged between 65 – 80 years.
· Rs. 500 per month (Central govt + State govt = Rs. 250 + Rs. 250) for the people who aged more than 80 years.

13. IGNWPS: Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme
· The beneficiary is in between age group of 40-64 years in this scheme.
· Assistance of Rs. 400 per month (Central govt + State govt = Rs. 200 + Rs. 200) will be given to particular person.


14.  Self-help group (SHG) is a village-based financial intermediary committee usually composed of 10–20 local women or men. A mixed group is generally not preferred. Most self-help groups are located in India, though SHGs can also be found in other countries, especially in South Asia and Southeast Asia.
Members make small regular savings contributions over a few months until there is enough capital in the group to begin lending. Funds may then be lent back to the members or to others in the village for any purpose. In India, many SHG's are 'linked' to banks for the delivery of micro-credit.

15.  Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana
The government rolled out its ambitious financial inclusion programme, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY)
The programme is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first blockbuster social upliftment scheme and is aimed at improving the lives of millions of India's poor by bringing them into the financial mainstream and freeing them from the clutches of usurious moneylenders, while giving them a modicum of insurance cover.
 Modi shortened the time for achieving the 7.5 crore new accounts to five months from six, urging the finance ministry to complete the task by January 26.
Each account with life insurance cover of Rs 30,000, adding to the Rs 1 lakh accidental insurance benefit already available under the account that will come bundled with a Ru-Pay-enabled debit card.
fter six months of satisfactory operations, the account would be eligible forRs 5,000 overdraft facility, designed to take the poor out of the clutches of moneylenders. Subsequently, these accounts will be also used for providing micro pensions.

Key facts
The slogan for the Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan mission is  ” Mera Khata – Bhagya Vidhaata” which when translated into English means ” My Bank Account – The Creator of the Good Fortune”:
The primary aim of the Jan Dhan Yojana is to bring poor financially excluded people into the banking system by providing them bank accounts and debit cards.
The scheme will cover both urban and rural areas of India and all bank accounts opened will be linked to a debit card which would be issued under the Ru-Pay scheme. ( Rupay is India’s own unique domestic card network owned by National Payments Corporation of India and has been created as an alternative to Visa and Mastercard.)
Every individual who opens a bank account becomes eligible to receive an accident insurance cover of up-to Rs 1 Lakh for his entire family.
The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana has set an ambitious target of bringing in more than 7.5 crore un-banked families into India’s banking system by opening more than 15 Crore bank accounts at the rate of two bank accounts per household.
Once the bank account has been active for 6 months and has been linked to account holders Aadhar identity , they would become eligible for an overdraft of up to Rs 2,500 , which would further be enhanced by the bank to Rs 5000 over time.

16. Union Government launched Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana for urban and rural poor
 Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana has two components one for urban India and other for rural India.
 The Urban component will be implemented by the Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation. Rural component named as Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana will be implemented by the Union Ministry of Rural Development.
Main Highlights of the Urban Scheme
i. Imparting skills with an expenditure of 15000 rupees to 18000 rupees on each urban poor
ii. Enabling urban poor form Self-Help Groups for meeting financial and social needs with a support of 10000 rupees per each group who would in turn would be helped with bank
linkages.
Main Poins of the Rural Scheme
i. The Yojana aims at training 10 lakh (1 million) rural youths for jobs in three years, that is, by 2017.
ii. The minimum age for entry under the Yojana is 15 years compared to 18 years under the Aajeevika Skills Programme.
iii. The skills imparted under the Yojana will now be benchmarked against international standards and will complement
the Prime Minister’s Make In India campaign.

17. Swachh Bharat Mission- is to paveaccess for every person to sanitation facilities including toilets, solid and liquid waste disposal systems, village cleanliness and safe and adequate drinking water supply. It ends on 2019

15.  Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana
The government rolled out its ambitious financial inclusion programme, the Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY)
The programme is Prime Minister Narendra Modi's first blockbuster social upliftment scheme and is aimed at improving the lives of millions of India's poor by bringing them into the financial mainstream and freeing them from the clutches of usurious moneylenders, while giving them a modicum of insurance cover.
 Modi shortened the time for achieving the 7.5 crore new accounts to five months from six, urging the finance ministry to complete the task by January 26.
Each account with life insurance cover of Rs 30,000, adding to the Rs 1 lakh accidental insurance benefit already available under the account that will come bundled with a Ru-Pay-enabled debit card.
fter six months of satisfactory operations, the account would be eligible forRs 5,000 overdraft facility, designed to take the poor out of the clutches of moneylenders. Subsequently, these accounts will be also used for providing micro pensions.

The slogan for the Pradhanmantri Jan Dhan mission is  ” Mera Khata – Bhagya Vidhaata” which when translated into English means ” My Bank Account – The Creator of the Good Fortune”:
The primary aim of the Jan Dhan Yojana is to bring poor financially excluded people into the banking system by providing them bank accounts and debit cards.
The scheme will cover both urban and rural areas of India and all bank accounts opened will be linked to a debit card which would be issued under the Ru-Pay scheme. ( Rupay is India’s own unique domestic card network owned by National Payments Corporation of India and has been created as an alternative to Visa and Mastercard.)
Every individual who opens a bank account becomes eligible to receive an accident insurance cover of up-to Rs 1 Lakh for his entire family.
The Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana has set an ambitious target of bringing in more than 7.5 crore un-banked families into India’s banking system by opening more than 15 Crore bank accounts at the rate of two bank accounts per household.
Once the bank account has been active for 6 months and has been linked to account holders Aadhar identity , they would become eligible for an overdraft of up to Rs 2,500 , which would further be enhanced by the bank to Rs 5000 over time.

16. Union Government launched Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana for urban and rural poor
 Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Antyodaya Yojana has two components one for urban India and other for rural India.
 The Urban component will be implemented by the Union Ministry of Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation. Rural component named as Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojana will be implemented by the Union Ministry of Rural Development.
Main Highlights of the Urban Scheme
i. Imparting skills with an expenditure of 15000 rupees to 18000 rupees on each urban poor
ii. Enabling urban poor form Self-Help Groups for meeting financial and social needs with a support of 10000 rupees per each group who would in turn would be helped with bank
linkages.
Main Poins of the Rural Scheme
i. The Yojana aims at training 10 lakh (1 million) rural youths for jobs in three years, that is, by 2017.
ii. The minimum age for entry under the Yojana is 15 years compared to 18 years under the Aajeevika Skills Programme.
iii. The skills imparted under the Yojana will now be benchmarked against international standards and will complement
the Prime Minister’s Make In India campaign.
