• Out of the 201 districts, 82 districts are in just four states of UP, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and nearly 25 percent of the unvaccinated or partially vaccinated children of India are in these 82 districts of 4 states.
• 201 districts will be covered in the first phase of the mission, 297 districts will be targeted for the second phase in the year 2015.
• The Ministry will be technically supported by WHO, UNICEF, Rotary International and other donor partners.

• Under this web-based operational system, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) will send SMS to individuals who register themselves at the weather forecaster's official website www.imd.gov.in.
• The meteorological department will utilize Mobile Seva of Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) for SMS based cyclone warnings.
• The information on warnings will be disseminated to officials involved in administration, district magistrates/collectors besides fishermen, farmers and general public.

Those interested in visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra will now be able to book a ticket online, the Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Mahesh Sharma, said on Friday.
The facility, where one can book tickets 90 days in advance, is currently on a pilot basis, and is also applicable for Humayun’s Tomb in New Delhi. There are three categories of tickets for visitors — foreign visitor, SAARC visitor and domestic visitor and one can pay via debit card, credit card or through net banking.
The Minister was speaking at an event to mark Good Governance Day by the Ministry of Tourism.
“Today we are relaunching Indian tourism. With the advent of technology, if we are unable to market India as a tourism destination, we will lag behind,” he said.
The Ministry also released a Braille book on Delhi’s monuments. It has also tied up with the Street vendors Association of India to train vendors in capacity building. The Ministry has already trained over 400 vendors, an official said.
Incredible India toll free helpline number was also launched at the occasion. “The facility currently is available in two languages and across 6 lines, and going forward more language and lines will be added,” Sharma said.

9. President signs insurance, coal ordinances
Paving way for additional foreign investment in insurance and to move ahead with the re-allocation of cancelled coal mines, President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday signed the two ordinances in this regard.
The government had decided to promulgate these ordinances to move ahead with reforms in the two sectors, as respective bills could not get through during the just-concluded Parliament Session that ended on Tuesday.
The President has signed the two ordinances, Press Secretary Venu Rajamony said.
The Cabinet had had approved promulgation of the Ordinance on Insurance Bill and re-promulgation of the Coal Ordinance on Wednesday, a day after the conclusion of the Winter session of Parliament.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had expressed the hope that hiking of the foreign investment cap in the insurance sector to 49 per cent, which has been pending since 2008, will result in capital inflow of USD 6-8 billion. Earlier, this foreign investment limit was capped at 26 per cent.

Telangana government has given nod to set up Telangana State Public Service Commission (TPSC) under the chairmanship of G Chakrapani. In this regard , approval was given by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao.
Currently, G Chakrapani is a professor at B R Ambedkar Open University.
Thus, formation of TPSC will pave the way for filling up approximately 1.22 lakh vacant posts in 33 state departments.

Those interested in visiting the Taj Mahal in Agra will now be able to book a ticket online, the Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge), Mahesh Sharma, said on Friday.
The facility, where one can book tickets 90 days in advance, is currently on a pilot basis, and is also applicable for Humayun’s Tomb in New Delhi. There are three categories of tickets for visitors — foreign visitor, SAARC visitor and domestic visitor and one can pay via debit card, credit card or through net banking.
The Minister was speaking at an event to mark Good Governance Day by the Ministry of Tourism.
“Today we are relaunching Indian tourism. With the advent of technology, if we are unable to market India as a tourism destination, we will lag behind,” he said.
The Ministry also released a Braille book on Delhi’s monuments. It has also tied up with the Street vendors Association of India to train vendors in capacity building. The Ministry has already trained over 400 vendors, an official said.
Incredible India toll free helpline number was also launched at the occasion. “The facility currently is available in two languages and across 6 lines, and going forward more language and lines will be added,” Sharma said.
7. Aviva Life appoints Trevor Bull as CEO for India operations
Aviva Life Insurance today said it has appointed Trevor Bull as the Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director for its operations in India.
Bull, who will take charge from January, is replacing TR Ramachandran, who led Aviva India since October 2008, said a release.

9. President signs insurance, coal ordinances
Paving way for additional foreign investment in insurance and to move ahead with the re-allocation of cancelled coal mines, President Pranab Mukherjee on Friday signed the two ordinances in this regard.
The government had decided to promulgate these ordinances to move ahead with reforms in the two sectors, as respective bills could not get through during the just-concluded Parliament Session that ended on Tuesday.
The President has signed the two ordinances, Press Secretary Venu Rajamony said.
The Cabinet had had approved promulgation of the Ordinance on Insurance Bill and re-promulgation of the Coal Ordinance on Wednesday, a day after the conclusion of the Winter session of Parliament.
Finance Minister Arun Jaitley had expressed the hope that hiking of the foreign investment cap in the insurance sector to 49 per cent, which has been pending since 2008, will result in capital inflow of USD 6-8 billion. Earlier, this foreign investment limit was capped at 26 per cent.
10. Telangana government sets up State Public Service Commission
Telangana government has given nod to set up Telangana State Public Service Commission (TPSC) under the chairmanship of G Chakrapani. In this regard , approval was given by Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao.
Currently, G Chakrapani is a professor at B R Ambedkar Open University.
Thus, formation of TPSC will pave the way for filling up approximately 1.22 lakh vacant posts in 33 state departments.
11. Government’s DBTL becomes world’s largest direct benefit transfer scheme
Governments ambitious Direct Benefit Transfer on LPG (DBTL) has become the world’s largest direct benefit transfer scheme after 2.5 crore households received about 550 crore rupees since 15th November 2014.
It has surpassed number of beneficiaries in direct benefit transfer programmes in countries like China and Brazil.
Earlier, government had launched DBTL scheme in 54 districts from 15th November 2014 and planning to launch it all over the country from 1st January 2015.
