 - Atletico de Kolkata won the inaugural edition of Indian Super League by beating Kerala Blasters. Mohammed Rafique  goals in final match at D.Y. Patil stadium, Mumbai
Chennaiyin FC’s Elano Blumer and FC Goa’s goalkeeper Jan Seda (FC Goa) topped the list for Golden Boot and Golden Glove awards respectively

-Michael Garcia resigned as Chief ethics investigator of FIFA Ethics Committee

-Hariom Singh won Gold medal in Men’s 50 metre rifle prone event at the 58th National Shooting Championships held in Pune.


-The International Boxing Association  banned Laishram Sarita Devi  for one year for not accepting her bronze medal at Asian Games 2014 medal ceremony.

-Name of mascots of the 2016 Rio Olympic and Paralympics Games were revealed. They have been named as Vinicius and Tom.

-Germany  won Hockey’s Champions Trophy for the year 2014. In the final match played at the Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, Olympic Champions Germany defeated Pakistan by 2-0 margin.
This was 10th Champions Trophy crown for Germany. It had last won the tournament in 2007.
Five-time World Chess Champion Viswanathan Anand of India  won his maiden London Classic Chess title. To win the title, he defeated British Grandmaster Michael Adams in the fifth and final round.

-Japanese teens Mima Ito and Miu Hirano became youngest table tennis champions  in table tennis World Grand Finals. The Table Tennis World Grand Finals was held in Bangkok.

-Paul McGinley won Sports Personality Coach of the Year 2014 at the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards in Glasgow. He was awarded for guiding the European team to win the Ryder Cup of Golf at Gleneagles in UK in September 2014.

-Gwladys Nocera of France  won the Hero Women's Indian Golf Open 2014 at the Delhi Golf Club. She received the prize money of 300000 US dollars.

-Amos Meindi of Kenya won 29th Pune International full Marathon in Men’s category Nancy Wambua of Kenya won the half marathon in Women category in 71 minutes and 55 seconds

-Indian Blind Cricket team  won the fourth edition of the Blind Cricket World Cup (BCWC) 2014 by defeating defending champions Pakistan at Wally Wilson Cricket Ground in Cape Town, South Africa. The captain of the Indian team was Shekar Naik.

-Raninder Singh  became the first Indian to get elected as a member of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF)'s Executive Committee. He is the President of National Rifle Association of India (NRAI).
This is the first time in the 107-year history of ISSF that an Indian has been elected as the member of the global body representing the sport of shooting.

-Indian Oil won the 119th Beighton Cup Hockey tournament . In the final match played at the SAI Eastern Centre in Kolkata the Indian Oil defeated the Punjab National Bank in tie-breaker by 5-4 goals.

-East Zone won the 2014-15 Deodhar Trophy of cricket on 3 December 2014 by defeating West Zone by 24 runs. The final match was played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
This was the first Deodhar Trophy win for East Zone after 11 seasons.

-The mascot for the 2016 European football championship has been named Super Victor.Euro 2016 will take place in France from 10 June 2016 to 10 July 2016.

-PV Sindhu won 2014 Macau Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton Title
