1. Indian women beat Poland to win Hockey World League Round 2
Putting up a dominating show, India scored in three of the four quarters to outplay Poland 3-1 in the final and clinch the FIH Hockey World League Round 2 at Major Dhyan Chan stadium, here on Sunday.Vandana Kataria (15th minute) had put India ahead by scoring a field goal in the dying
minute of the opening quarter. The Polish girls struck back immediately at the start of the second period as Oriana Walasek struck level in the 17th minute by converting a penalty corner.The third period remained goalless for long before Rani put the hosts ahead again with her field goal in the 44th minute. India skipper Ritu Rani then celebrated her 200th International appearance by finding the net in the 59th minute to seal the title for her side. Meanwhile in the classification matches, Malaysia overpowered Thailand 3-0 to sealda third place, Russia thrashed Kazakhstan 9-0 to secure fifth spot and Ghana outwitted Singapore 2-1 to avoid the wooden spoon.

2. Wipro Appoints Abid Ali Neemuchwala as Group President and Chief Operating Officer

3. Services clinched 69th Santosh Trophy football title 2015
Services are crowned champion of Santosh Trophy 2014-15.
They beat Punjab in the final of 69th edition of this premier football tournament to clinch their 4th overall title here. The match - having remained goal-less in the regulation time - had to be decided by the penalty shootout. Services prevailed in the shootout by 5-4 over Punjab. They have earlier won this trophy in years 1961, 2012 and 2013 besides finishing up as runner on 5 other occasions.

This premier football tournament is contested by states and government institutions every year.
The inaugural champion Bengal (1941) is the most successful team with 31 titles followed by Punjab (8) and Kerala (5).
The trophy takes it name after the late Maharaja Sir Manmatha Nath Roy Chowdhary of 'Santosh' - the place now falls in Bangladesh.

The runners-up trophy is called Kamla Gupta Trophy while the third place teams receive the Sampangi Cup - presented by the Karnataka State Football Association in the memory of Sampangi, a renowned footballer from Mysore.

4. Kidambi Srikanth won the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold title of Badminton
The 22-year-old Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth  won the Swiss Open Grand Prix GOLD title of Badminton. The final was held at Basel in Switzerland.
World Number 4 Srikanth defeated World Number 6 Viktor Alexson of Denmark 21-15, 12-21, 21-14 to win the men’s singles title of the championship.
With this, he became the first Indian men to win the 120000 US dollars Swiss Open Grand Prix GOLD. The ace Indian shuttler is from Andhra Pradesh and currently the highest ranked Indian men player on the World Badminton Federation (WBF) rankings

5. World-consumer-rights-day-2015-observed-with-the-theme-helping-consumers-choose-healthy-diets 15 March: World Consumer Rights Day
The World Consumer Rights Day (WCRD) 2015 was observed on 15 March 2015. The theme for the WCRD 2015 is Helping consumers choose healthy diets. The theme was taken up by the Consumers International (CI) because unhealthy diets are linked to four of the ten biggest causes of death viz., overweight and obesity, high blood pressure, high blood glucose and high cholesterol worldwide. According to an estimate by the CI obesity alone is estimated to cost 2 trillion US dollars per year.
WCRD is an opportunity to promote the basic rights of all consumers, for demanding that those rights are respected and protected, and for protesting the market abuses and social injustices which undermine them

6. Snapdeal to buy GoJavas for Rs. 200 cr
Online marketplace major SNAPDEAL is in talks to acquire logistics firm GoJavas in a deal estimated to be about Rs. 150-200 crore, as it looks to further strengthen its delivery operations in the country According to sources, Snapdeal is expected to announce the acquisition of the former logistics arm of e-tailer JABONG in the next two weeks. The deal size could range between Rs. 150—200 crore, they added.
When contacted, a Snapdeal spokesperson said: “These are speculation and as a policy, we do not comment on speculation.”
GoJavas did not respond to the email query. GoJavas, which works with eCommerce firms like HealthKart, JABONG, Yepme and Lenskart, covers over 2,500 pincodes in the country.

7. ‘MUDRA Bank will provide cheaper loans to 5.7 cr informal enterprises’
The Government is pinning its hopes on the new refinance mechanism, MUDRA Bank, for providing organised credit at reasonable rates to informal enterprises. It feels this will speed up development of the sector which is a high job creator. BusinessLine caught up with Financial Services Secretary Hasmukh Adhia to find out more on Micro Units Development Refinance Agency or MUDRA and the insurance Bill, among others. Edited excerpts from the interview:
How will the MUDRA Bank work?
The idea of MUDRA Bank came from the results of a NSSO study in 2013 which said there are 5.7 crore informal enterprises in India that are unincorporated, single person or two-person units. These enterprises are getting only four per cent credit from the institutional mechanism and 96 per cent from informal sources. This was a shocking figure. These units employ 12 crore people. The employment potential of informal enterprises is huge

8. K.V.Rama Moorthy assumes charge as Bank of Baroda ED
K.V.Rama Moorthy, on Monday, has assumed charge as executive director of Bank of Baroda. Prior to this elevation, Moorthy was a General Manager of the bank and heading the North Gujarat Zone. Moorthy started his career as a probationary officer in Bank of Baroda in 1981 and has over three decades of experience in banking. Prior to his posting as zonal head of North Gujarat Zone, in September 2014, he was the chief executive of the bank's gulf operations, UAE for a period of three years.

9. Tigerair, Axis Bank offer one-way tickets on flights to Singapore
 Singapore-based low-cost carrier Tigerair has tied up with Axis Bank, India’s third largest private sector bank, to announce a special ‘Pay to go, return for free’ offer exclusively for the bank’s credit and debit cardholders.
As a part of Singapore’s golden jubilee celebrations, “from 17 March 2015 till 29 March 2015, Axis Bank customers who book a round trip to visit Singapore will only have to pay for their flight from India to Singapore whereas their return journey will be complimentary (airport taxes and add-on charges will still apply),” the company statement said.
The ‘Pay to go, return for free’ promotion starts 17 March 2015 and ends on 29 March 2015. The applicable travel is from 5 July 2015 to 30 September 2015. All-in return fares to Singapore from Chennai start from Rs. 7,499 during the promotional period.
Tigerair operates a total of 37 weekly flights to Singapore from five Indian destinations. The airline also connects to Bali, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Perth, and Taipei. It connects to Sydney, GOLD Coast and 11 more destinations with 50 weekly flights via Singapore in collaboration with Scoot.

UCO Bank announced that Charan Singh (54) has assumed the charge of Executive Director of the bank from March 10. Prior to this, he was General Manager in Bank of India, in charge of its human resources department. He also held the post of Chairman of Aryavart Gramin Bank during his 32-year tenure in Bank of India.
