1. PM Narendra Modi Announces $1 Billion Credit Line to Mongolia
 India, today, announced a credit line of $1 billion to Mongolia to expand its economic capacity and infrastructure, as they decided to upgrade their relationship from Comprehensive to "Strategic Partnership".
Narendra Modi, the first Indian Prime Minister to visit Mongolia, held wide ranging talks with his Mongolian counterpart Chimed Saikhanbileg in Ulan Bator following which the two sides inked 14 agreements covering defence, cyber security, agriculture, renewable energy and health sector.
The Prime Minister also thanked Mongolia for its strong support for India's permanent membership of UN Security Council.
Mr Modi, who arrived in Mongolia last night on the second leg of his three-nation tour, was earlier given a ceremonial welcome at the State Palace.
India has a strong linkage of Buddhism and democracy with Mongolia and was the first country outside the Soviet bloc to establish diplomatic relations with it.
India feels that there is excellent potential for cooperation with Mongolia in the minerals sector. Mongolia is mineral-rich country in coking coal, copper, rare earths and uranium.
India already has a civil nuclear agreement with Mongolia which provides for uranium exports to the country once the domestic laws here permit prospecting and mining.
 Prime Minster Narendra Modi today handed over a Bodhi tree sapling to Hamba Lama (Chief Abbott) of the Gandan Tegchilen monastery here in the Mongolian Capital.

2. Australia’s Brad Haddin announces retirement from one-day cricket
 Australia’s wicketkeeper Brad Haddin has decided to make March's World Cup final his last one-day international and announced his retirement from the format on Sunday.
The 37-year-old, who will leave Australia for the two-test tour of West Indies and Ashes campaign in England on Monday, played every match in the triumphant World Cup campaign earlier this year to take his tally to 126 ODIs for his country.
He took 170 catches, 11 stumpings and scored 3,122 runs at an average of 31.53 with a top score of 110 against New Zealand in Hamilton in 2010.

3. Ravishankar Prasad Inaugurates First Postal ATM in Bihar
Expanding utilities of Post offices, the Centre is planning to open 1,000 ATMs (Automated Teller Machines) all over the country to provide facility of cash withdrawal round the clock, Union Information and Technology Minister Ravishankar Prasad said today.
Inaugurating the first postal ATM in Bihar at the GPO (General Post Office) in Patna, Mr Prasad said the facility was part of efforts to increase the point of presence for customers, particularly in the rural areas.

4. Egypt's ousted President Morsy sentenced to death
An Egyptian court has sentenced ousted President Mohammed Morsy to death.
Judge Shaaban el-Shami referred his death sentence on Morsy and more than 20 others to the nation’s top Muslim theologian, or mufti, for his non-binding opinion.

5. Gagan Narang wins World Cup bronze, earns India quota for Rio Olympics
Gagan Narang won the bronze medal in the 50m Rifle Prone Event of the ISSF World Cup at Fort Benning in USA, earning himself a quota place for the 2016 Rio Olympics.  Narang, who won the bronze in 10m Rifle at the London Olympics, shot 185.8 overall to secure third place behind gold medalist Michael McPhail (208.8 points) of USA and Ole Kristian Bryhn (206.3) of Norway.  The other quota place from the event went to McPhail.
 Earlier in the competition, Narang and India's only individual Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra, had failed to qualify for the 10m Rifle final.
Narang is third Indian shooter to make the Rio cut after Jitu Rai and Apurvi Chandela.
