1. R C Tayal appointed as new Director General of NSG
CRPF Special Director General R C Tayal was today named as the acting chief of the country's largest paramilitary force till a successor to incumbent Dilip Trivedi is appointed.
The 1980-batch IPS officer has been asked to "look after" the top post of the force as Trivedi is set to retire on November 30.
"Consequent to the retirement on superannuation of Dilip Trivedi, IPS (UP:78) Director General CRPF on November 30, 2014, the competent authority in the Ministry of Home Affairs has approved that the charge of Director General CRPF will be looked after by the next senior most officer i.E., R C Tayal, IPS (AM:80) Special DG CRPF till the appointment and joining of successor.

2. Rahul Dravid named coach of India ‘A’, U-19 cricket teams
Former Captain of Indian cricket team Rahul Dravid was named as coach of India ‘A’ and Under-19 cricket teams. Rahul Dravid’s name for coaching India’s junior team was confirmed by BCCI Secretary Anurag Thakur in his press conference in Kolkata.
The decision to appoint Dravid as coach was taken at the first meeting of BCCI’s Advisory Committee in Kolkata. The advisory committee includes Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman as its member.
The 42-year-old Dravid, a veteran of 164 Tests (13288 runs) and 344 ODIs (10889 runs), is presently working with the IPL franchise Rajasthan Royals as mentor.
Hailed as The Wall, Dravid is the fourth-highest run scorer in Test cricket, after Sachin Tendulkar, Ricky Ponting and Jacques Kallis, and is only the second Indian cricketer, after Tendulkar to score 10000 runs both in Tests and in ODIs.
As a coach, Dravids first assignment would be to prepare the U-19 team for 2016 Under-19 World Cup to be held in Bangladesh.

3. Stanislas Wawrinka won Men's single title of French Open
Stanislas Wawrinka of Switzerland  won his first French Open title of Tennis. In the final clash played at Roland Garros in Paris, Wawrinka defeated Novak Djokovic of Serbia 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, 6-4.
The victory makes him only the second Swiss to win at Roland Garros after Roger Federer, the man he beat in the quarter-finals. This was second grand slam title for Wawrinka after Australian Open 2014. He also brought an end to Djokovic's 28-match winning streak.

4. IndiaFirst introduces cash back plan
IndiaFirst Life Insurance has launched its IndiaFirst Cash Back Plan to help its customers enjoy long-term investment benefits after paying for a limited period.
“With the IndiaFirst Cash Back Plan, customers can start investing with Rs. 522 a month …The customer will reap the benefits in regular intervals and hence one can plan for their personal goals like home, marriage, child’s education, personal expenses and retirement & healthcare expenses etc., with the help of the IndiaFirst Cash Back Plan, the company said in a statement.

5. Tata Communications Payment Solutions ties up with FINO PayTech
White label operator, Tata Communications Payment Solutions, today partnered with FINO PayTech, a payment technology provider, to set up more ATM services in rural unbanked regions.
Tata Communications Payment Solutions, which operates under the brand name ‘Indicash’, will install ATMs at the existing FINO Money Marts, the retail outlets of FINO PayTech. Similarly, Money Mart points will be placed at the existing Indicash ATM locations, Tata Communications Payment solutions said in a statement.
The Indicash network has rolled out over 5,000 ATMs in 20 states in nearly two years, while FINO has a retail presence across 14 states with over 300 FINO Money Marts in the country.
Money marts provide banking and payment service offerings such as remittance, utility bill payments, bus/train ticket booking, mobile/DTH recharge, micro insurance and international remittance cash out.
The first set of such installations is expected to go live in Gurgaon, Faridabad and Pune and plans are on to extend 100 such outlets with both offerings under the same roof by the end of the fiscal in states like Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh,Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Gujarat, Haryana and Karnataka.
This partnership will allow customers to access a range of banking and payment service offerings such as ATMs, domestic remittance, international remittance cash out, utility bill payments, travel bookings, mobile/DTH recharge, online shopping, cash management services and Aadhaar Kendra Services.

6. India, Netherlands sign MoU for development of Measles- Rubella Vaccines 
A Memorandum of Understanding was arrived at between India and Netherlands for development of vaccines. The MoU signed under ‘Make in India’ initiative of Government of India will enable the Bharat Immunologicals and Biologicals Corporation Ltd (BIBCOL), a Central PSU under Department of Biotechnology, to develop Measles – Rubella vaccine at its plant at Chola, Bulandshahr, U.P. Translational Vaccinology (INTRAVACC) a government-based institute of the Netherlands will extend technical support for the development of vaccine. The MoU was signed in the august presence of the Prime Minister of The Netherlands Shri Mark Rutte  during his visit to New Delhi.

7. India slaps anti-dumping duty on steel imports from China, Malaysia and South Korea
The finance ministry on Saturday imposed anti-dumping duty for certain stainless steel products imported from China, Malaysia and South Korea, which marks the first decisive move to stem the inflow of such products amid a hue and cry by the domestic steel industry battling sluggish market sentiments and strained margins.
The duty has been levied for five years, according to the finance ministry statement. Apart from glut of imports from China, stainless steel industry is plagued with imports from countries like Malaysia, Korea and Japan under the Free Trade Agreement. Apart from this ISSDA has also complained to the government on issue of abuse of India–Malaysia comprehensive economic cooperation agreement (CECA).

8. Legendary Telugu writer Dasaradhi Rangacharya passes away
Dasaradhi Ranchacharya is no more. Legendary Telangana Novelist Dasaradhi Rangacharya dies at Somajiguda today early morning. Famous novelist Dr.Dasaradhi Rangachaya organized a strike against the Nizam in his school days. Rangacharya wrote Chillera Devullu, Modugupulu, Janapadam and more. Chillara Devullu is a fictional portrait of pre independence Telangana.
