1. ‘Buddha In A Traffic Jam’ wins best original screenplay award at the Madrid Film Festival
‘Buddha In A Traffic Jam’ film has won the best original screenplay in a Foreign Language award at the Madrid International Film Festival. The film is a political satire directed by filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri. It stars Arunoday Singh and Mahi Gill in a lead role along with Anupam Kher, Pallavi Joshi and introduces Anchal Dwivedi. Besides this award category, the film was also nominated in other two categories viz. the Best Foreign Language Film and Best Lead Actress in a Foreign Language Film to actress Mahi Gill in the Madrid International Film Festival.


2. Indo-Vietnamese pair Sumit Nagal-Nam Hoang Ly won 2015 Wimbledon Boys’ Doubles title
The Indo-Vietnamese pair Sumit Nagal-Nam Hoang Ly  won the 2015 Wimbledon Boys’ Doubles title by defeating Opelka and Akira Santillan in the final match held in London.
The eighth seeded pair defeated the fourth seeded USA-Japanese pair 7-6 (4) 6-4.
With this win, the 17-year- old Sumit Nagal became the sixth Indian to win a Grand Slam junior title.

3.Tata Steel’s West Bokaro Division conferred with Golden Peacock Environment Management Award 2015
Tata Steel's West Bokaro Division was conferred with the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award (GPEMA) 2015 in New Delhi.
It was presented by the Union Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Prakash Javadekar to Sanjay Rajoria, General Manager of West Bokaro, Tata Steel of Jharkand.
Tata Steel won the coveted award for its responsible environmental practices and resource management while upgrading the skills of employees through training as new technologies evolve.

4. Patnitop Tunnel, India’s longest road tunnel, set to open in 2016
The Patnitop Tunnel was in news  as the Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari attended a ceremony when the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) engineers drilled a hole through the final section of the tunnel between Chenani and Nashri.
The Patnitop Tunnel or Chenani-Nashri Tunnel is touted as India’s longest road tunnel.

5. Paes-Hingis won mixed doubles final at Wimbledon
Seventh seed Indo-Swiss pair of Leander Paes and Martina Hingis  won mixed doubles title at Wimbledon. In the final clash, the duo defeated the fifth seed Austrian-Hungarian team of Alexander Peya and Timea Babos 6-1, 6-1. 
It was Paes’ 16th Grand Slam trophy and eighth mixed doubles title. Overall it was 18th Major title for the Swiss and third in mixed doubles.

6. NABARD to provide Rs 30,000 crore credit to farmers for irrigation
State-run National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) has set a target of providing 30,000 crore rupees as credit to farmers for irrigational purpose. It was announced by Bank’s Chairman and Managing Director Dr. Harsh Kumar Bhanwala in Mumbai on the occasion of 34th Foundation Day of NABARD. This credit will be provided over the next three years i.e. till 2018 and for this NABARD already has sanctioned 1,000 crore rupees. This funding will be in addition to the government’s 50,000 crore rupees of loans to farmers over the next five years (till 2020) under the Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana (PMKSY).

7. HCL Tech to acquire assets of U.S.-based Trygstad
Country’s fourth largest software services firm HCL Technologies has said it will buy certain assets of Trygstad Technical Services in an all-cash deal.
Trygstad is a U.S.-based IT consulting services and solutions firm and has deep expertise in areas of core engineering, Internet of Things, embedded systems and Intelligent Systems.
The financial value and terms were not disclosed.

8. SEBI raises minimum contract size in equity derivatives to Rs. 5 lakhs
India has raised the minimum contract size for equity derivatives to Rs. 500,000 ($7,870) from Rs. 200,000 earlier, the market regulator said in a circular on Monday.
The new provision shall be made effective from the next trading day after expiry of October 2015 

9. India test-fires Nag anti-tank missile from helicopter platform
In fresh trials, India has test-fired its indigenously developed Nag anti-tank

 guided missile, which can hit a target upto seven km, from a helicopter at a firing range in Jaisalmer in Rajasthan.

Three-round trial of helicopter-launched Nag (HeliNa) missile was conducted yesterday at the Chandhan firing range.
HeliNa is a helicopter-launched version of Nag and has been developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) under the Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme (IGMDP).
