1. India and Germany signed agreement on Namami Gange Programme
1. Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation and German International Cooperation (GIZ) on  signed an Implementation agreement for Ganga Rejuvenation under the Namami Gange Programme in New Delhi.
2. The agreement was signed in the presence of the German Ambassador to India, Dr. Martin Ney and Secretary, Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, Shashi Shekhar.
3. The project will closely cooperate with other National and international initiatives including Indo-German bilateral projects like Support to National Urban Sanitation Policy (SNUSP) and Sustainable Environment-friendly Industrial Production (SEIP).

2. Padma Sachdev selected for Saraswati Samman 2015
1. Author and poet Padma Sachdev on was selected for the prestigious Saraswati Samman for 2015 for her autobiography titled Chitt-Chete, written in Dogri language.
2. The book, published in 2007, links the personal trials and tribulations of the author with issues concerning society, nation and the world at large.

3. England Cricketer James Taylor retired from International Cricket
1. England and Nottinghamshire batsman James Taylor announced his retirement at the age of 26 due to ill health.
2. He was diagnosed with Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy (ARVC) that needs an operation to his Heart.
3. He played seven Test matches for England and the first was against South Africa at Headingley in 2012. He averaged 26 with top Test score was 76 against Pakistan in November 2015.

4. Shiv Chawrasia won Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month for March
1. Shiv Shankar Prasad Chawrasia was honoured as the Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month for March 2016 in Sentosa, Singapore.
2. In March 2016, Chawrasia showed excellent performance in his National Open to win his third Asian Tour title by defeating 2015 Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Year Anirban Lahiri and Korean rising star Jeunghun Wang by two shots.
The Hilton Asian Tour Golfer of the Month award is one of the partnership initiatives aimed at recognising outstanding efforts of Asian Tour members both at home and abroad.

5. Union Cabinet approves MoU between India, UAE to check human trafficking
1. The Union Cabinet has given its approval for signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between India and United Arab Emirates (UAE) on cooperation in preventing and combating of Human Trafficking. 
2. The MoU will increase the bilateral cooperation on the issues of prevention, recovery, rescue and repatriation related to human trafficking especially of women and children expeditiously.
3. Strengthen cooperation to prevent all forms of human trafficking, especially that of women and children. Ensure speedy investigation and prosecution of traffickers and organized crime syndicates in either country. Taking preventive measures in order to eliminate human trafficking and for protecting the rights of trafficked victims. Anti-trafficking Task Forces and Cells will work to prevent human trafficking on both sides.

6. Haryana Government decides to rename Gurgaon as Gurugram
1. Haryana Government has decided to rename Gurgaon as Gurugram. State government also has renamed Mewat as Nuh. In this regard, Chief Minister Manohar Lal has approved the proposal to change the names of Gurgaon and Mewat. 
2. Decision to change the name of Gurgaon has been taken on the basis of the representations received at several forums. Since ancient times, Gurgaon had been a centre of learning where the princes used to get education and known as Gurugram since the times of Guru Dronacharya.
