Educational Qualification
The educational qualification varies according to the trade.
Warrant Officer – Cipher
Candidates should have 10+2/Intermediate with Physics, Mathematics and English, along with the prescribed technical qualification, or a relevant bachelor’s degree in Electronics/ICT from a recognized institution.
Technical Trades
For posts such as Electrical Fitter Signal, Lineman Field, Engineer Equipment Mechanic, Electrician Motor Vehicle, Instrument Mechanic, Metalsmith, Vehicle Mechanic and Welder, candidates generally require 10th pass along with the prescribed ITI/technical training or diploma qualification.
Store Keeper Technical
Candidates applying for Store Keeper Technical are required to have passed 10th Class from a recognized Board, subject to the detailed requirements of the post.
Draughtsman
Candidates should have passed 10+2 or equivalent along with a 3-year Diploma in Architectural Assistantship from a recognized Polytechnic/Institution.
Operation Theatre Technician
Candidates should have passed 10+2 and possess the prescribed Diploma in Operation Theatre Technician, along with the required work experience.
Physiotherapist
Candidates should have passed 10+2 and possess the prescribed Diploma in Physiotherapy, along with the required experience.
Mason

Assam Rifles Technical & Tradesman Recruitment 2026-Age Limit
The age requirement depends on the post:
- 18 to 23 years: Most technical and tradesman posts
- 18 to 25 years: Cipher, Draughtsman, Operation Theatre Technician and Physiotherapist
The age is calculated with reference to 1 July 2026.
Age Relaxation
Applicable relaxation includes:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC: 3 years
- Ex-Servicemen: As per applicable government rules
- Other applicable categories: As prescribed in the recruitment notification.
Physical Standard Test
Candidates have to meet the prescribed physical standards.
For the general category of candidates, the prescribed male height is generally 170 cm, with specified relaxations for eligible regions/categories. The normal and expanded chest requirement is generally 80 cm and 85 cm, respectively, subject to applicable relaxations.
Candidates belonging to specified regions and categories may receive relaxation in height and chest measurements according to the prescribed rules.
Physical Efficiency Test
The Physical Efficiency Test includes a running event.
For candidates outside the Ladakh region:
- 5 km run – within 24 minutes
For candidates from the Ladakh region:
- 1.6 km run – within 7 minutes
The PST/PET is conducted using an RFID-based system at the designated recruitment centres.
